Duo is presenting also own musical arrangements of masterpieces. For many years I have been combining my musical passions with my beloved husband Radoslaw Marzec, the Master of organ plaing and Professor of musical art. We promote unusual chamber music – on instruments of a completely different form of creating sounds and completely different style history.
This collection of recorded pieces may be perceived as the quintessence of my passion for music. The choice of repertoire is a result of my experience as a concertizingmusician as well as a result of neverending process of testing myself in the role of music interpreter and creator. Thus, the pieces presented carry incredibly deep, personal mixture of emotions connected with cherished Bach’s compositions, genuine interest in Hebrew and Iberian culture, inspiration gained from piano and violin music literature and romantic music, closely related to cello’s dolce cantabile.

Albéniz’s „Asturias” is a part of Suite Española originally composed for piano. It has become extraordinarily popular thanks to Andrés Segovia who transcripted the piece for guitar. I have to admit, that this was my great inspiration – my spiritus movens – which made me play this piece. Due to the transfer of motor fragments in the form of repetitions, the transcription was based on the original piano version. The separate issue was the realisation of the harmonic structure and chords thatI needed to adjust to instrument’s capability. My version of Asturias begins with contemplative Introduction – 8 acts taken from the middle part of Entando largamente ma dolce. This has been the developed through experience, when beginning a concert I felt the need to introduce an audience to the atmosphere of the piece and create the appropriate, contemplative mood.

Ysaÿe ‘s Ballade in d minor, one of the six parts of Sonatas for violin solo, was written for marvellous violinist G. Enescu. It explains the richness and diversity of techniques used and virtuosic character, which is undoubtedly the great asset. The Ballade is therefore a challenge for every cellist, especially when it comes to the skills in playing techniques. Transcription for cello in g minor, kept in a low register, brings out the new, sonoristic colour. The mood building and type of expression is deeply dramatic.

Bach’s Sonata in D major was originally written for viola da gamba and harpsichord. Transcription for cello and organ is a proposition of new sound which is the result of the charachteristics of the modern instruments, simultaneously paying attention to the Baroc’s aesthetics.

Max Bruch composed Kol Nideri for cello and orchestra. The cooperation between cello and organ needs slightly different way of handling dynamics and timing. Jewish prayer, said before Jom Kipur, included in the cello’s melody accompanied by organ changes completely the sound space, giving the piece utterly religious character.

Transcription of „Mon coeur s`ouvre a ta voix” aria from C. Saints-Saëns’s opera “Samson a Dalila” accurately reflects all associations with cello that come to mind. It utilises the vocal way of leading the narration, sound enriched with vibrato. Aria “My soul opens up to your voice” accompanied by organ is always my special gift for the audience
